Fire Extinguisher Training

Every day in New Zealand businesses are dealing with the outbreak of fire and dealing with the unnecessary property damage, serious injury and in the worst case scenario, loss of life as a result.

Our fire extinguisher training course will equip you with the skills required to use fire extinguishers and fire equipment on fires in industrial, general workplace, and home environments. By training in fire extinguisher training and conducting regular fire drills, your organisation will ensure that your personnel are ready to deal with any workplace fire promptly and safely.

We train how to use the correct fire extinguishers on our fire training simulator which will increase the possibility of a small fire being able to be extinguished.

• Demonstrate knowledge around the basic principles of the chemistry and physics of fire
• Demonstrate knowledge relating to the classes of fire and fire suppression methods and techniques
• Select and implement a strategy to deal with a fire

Unit standards in this course include:

• 3271 – Suppress fire with hand extinguishers and fixed hose reels, Level 2, Credits 1
• 4647 – Explain principles of fire science, Level 2, Credits 1
