Confined Space Training

A confined space is any area that is not intended for human occupancy, has limited access or has the potential to contain a toxic or oxygen deficient atmosphere.

The course can be tailored to suit your company’s specific training requirements focusing on the safety procedures and practical scenarios relevant to your particular confined space operations. While there is a standard set of learning outcomes for the course, we understand that the context and environment in which the learning is applied is varied.

Course objectives.

Participants will gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in:

Identify and control confined space hazards

Work safely within confined spaces

Complete relevant risk assessments and permits

Identify and control confined space hazards

Issue entry permits for confined space operations

Operate various confined space safety equipment to allow for vertical or horizontal entries

Use a gas detector and interpret readings

Unit standards.

Unit standards can be issued on completion of this course, including:

18426 — Demonstrate knowledge of hazards associated with confined spaces.
Level 3 / Credits 4

17599 — Plan a confined space entry.
Level 4 / Credits 5

25510 — Operate an atmospheric testing device to determine a suitable atmosphere exists to work safely.
Level 3 / Credits 4
