Fire Extinguisher Training
Every day in New Zealand businesses are dealing with the outbreak of fire, and dealing with the consequences as a result.
This course is designed to help manage a trick situation by training you about the risk your business has and how to effectively reduce the risk. We offer a full assessment of your potential risk areas and train people to assess and act accordingly.
Our fire extinguisher training course is unique to your fire hazards, which we will assess and build a course around the risk areas. We train how to use the correct fire extinguishers on our fire training simulator which will increase the possibility of a small fire being able to be extinguished.
Course objectives.
Participants will gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in:
Demonstrate knowledge around the basic principles of the chemistry and physics of fire
Demonstrate knowledge relating to the classes of fire and fire suppression methods and techniques
Select and implement a strategy to deal with a fire
Extinguishing a small fire using a live fire simulator
Unit standards.
This course can include the following unit standards if required:
3271 — Suppress fire with hand extinguishers and fixed hose reels.
Level 2 / Credits 1
4647 — Explain principles of fire science.
