Canterbury Training & Contracting is now able to offer building evacuation management which will include understanding your liabilities and responsibility’s as a building owner, tenant or property manager.
Did you know that every commercial building must have evacuation procedures for all types of emergencies?
In some cases, your building may even need an evacuation scheme approved by the NZ Fire Service.
We will take care of this for you and manage the complete process which can include 6 monthly trial evacuations, all the paperwork and approvals, fire action signage and staff training. We can offer a full variety of training to meet various levels of your building needs and requirements, Fire Evacuation Scheme Management, Evacuation Procedures, Wardens and Fire Extinguisher Training.
As an approved Evacuation Consultant, we will assess your needs and requirements and inform you of your actual responsibilities. We will then quote for these requirements and roll out an evacuation plan to protect your people and your business. The various clauses and acts covered are;
The Fire Service Act 2017 (Section 21A Evacuation Schemes for Public Safety)
The Fire Safety and Evacuation of Buildings Regulations 2018
The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
Health and Safety at Work (General Risk and Workplace Management) Regulations 2016
This is spelt out under chapter 36 Primary duty of care Subpart 2—Duties of PCBUs and Chapter 44 Duty of officers Subpart 3—Duties of officers, workers, and other persons.
